Asia Adult Expo Hong Kong 2026 closed on August 27 after three days at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, drawing more than 330 exhibitors and almost 15,000 professional buyer visits — what organisers and Erotic Trade Only, reporting September 8, called the show's strongest edition to date for on-site business interest and international buyer participation. The 2027 edition is already booked for May 15–17 at the same venue.

Why It Matters

Read this against the rest of the 2026–27 trade calendar and a pattern emerges. ANME ended its 30-year run in August. SZI Expo in Shenzhen slipped to March 2027. Altitude Intimates has just added a fall buying event for September 2027 to fill the hole ANME left. AVN has booked Virgin Hotels Las Vegas for January 2027 with its B2B Adult Novelty Expo attached. XBIZ Amsterdam and the new X3 Amsterdam opened this week. The US B2B floor is consolidating and reshuffling — and while that happens, the Asia-Pacific show is quietly posting its best numbers ever. That matters for two reasons. First, manufacturing: the overwhelming majority of pleasure devices are still made in and around Shenzhen, and Hong Kong is where Western buyers meet those factories without needing a mainland visa. A strong AAE with rising international buyer participation is a leading indicator for sourcing activity, which is worth watching given tariff volatility on device imports into the US. Second, positioning. The "wellness, not novelty" repositioning that reshaped Western retail over the last decade — the move that got Dame into Walmart and sexual wellness onto CVS shelves — is clearly now happening on the Asian trade floor, with a dedicated stage built around it. Asia-Pacific is the fastest-growing regional segment in most sex toy market forecasts, and it has historically been served with cheaper, novelty-coded product. A B2B show programming reproductive health and self-care panels next to the exhibit hall is how a category changes what it sells itself as — and, eventually, what it charges.

The interesting part isn't the attendance figure. It's the programming. AAE ran this year's show under the theme "TURN ON" and launched two new stages: COME CLOSER, covering sexual wellness, self-care, intimate relationships and reproductive health; and COME PLAY, an experiential stage with live performance and artistic work exploring the body, identity and intimate culture. Per ETO's account, the stated aim was to push the event past a product-led trade floor and give buyers insight into shifting consumer expectations — with intimate products increasingly positioned "as part of everyday health, self-care and personal wellbeing" across Asia.

AAE bills itself as the only 100% B2B trade show in Asia-Pacific, organised by Brilliant Vertical Exhibition (Hong Kong) Limited, formerly AAE Company Limited. Its organiser also runs trade fairs in bakery, funeral services, emergency management and agriculture, which is a useful reminder of how AAE positions the category: as one vertical among many, run on conventional trade-show mechanics.
