On October 19, 2026, intimate-care brand Playground launches its TikTok Shop storefront, according to Beauty Independent. The launch comes with an hourlong livestream at 9 p.m. ET on co-founder Christina Aguilera's TikTok account, which has more than 5 million followers, and TikTok is helping produce it. Aguilera is joined by sexologist Emily Morse, dermatologist Margaret Cocks, TikTok creator Angelica Torres and Playground co-founder and CEO Catherine Magee. The stream also debuts the $22 Hydrating Intimate Cleanser, the brand's first new product in more than a year. A product page for the cleanser is already up on Playground's own site.

Why It Matters

Social platforms have been the hardest wall for sexual wellness marketing. Brands have reshaped products to look like fruit and laundered their copy to avoid shadowbans, and TikTok Shop's US rules still ban vibrators. A celebrity-backed, TikTok-produced launch shows the gate can open for *approved* intimate-care sellers with the right connections and wording. That favours products sold as wellness (lubes, cleansers, moisturisers) over devices, and well-connected brands over independents. It also shows how the category is expanding: Playground is following Maude and PlusOne into Ulta and pushing from sex into everyday vulvar care, where shelf space is bigger and the regulatory risk is lower. Watch two things. First, whether TikTok extends the same treatment to other lube and intimate-care brands, or whether this stays a one-off. Second, how the platform polices health claims like "pH balance" once the content is live.

The approval is the real news. Beauty Independent reports that TikTok Shop's US policies only let approved sellers list certain sexual wellness products, including lubricants, and ban others, such as vibrators, outright. Playground needed special approval. The introduction came through Roc Nation, which has represented Aguilera since 2020. Aguilera's business manager, Sarah Francis, invested in Playground when the singer joined as co-founder and chief brand advisor in 2023, and she arranged and attended the meetings with TikTok. "We were blown away," Magee told the outlet. "Not only did they approve our shop, they helped us build it." The brand also worked with TikTok to learn which words the platform is comfortable with. Playground had tried creator marketing on TikTok a few years ago and pulled back, Magee said, because influencers were reluctant then. She says that has "majorly changed."

The cleanser is a category move. Playground says it contains a "ProHydro3" complex of ceramides, lactobacillus probiotics and hyaluronic acid. The brand claims it cleanses without stripping moisture and helps keep vulvar pH in balance. Those claims come from Playground and have not been independently tested. The company says the product grew out of customer data showing that three in four women buy lubricant to deal with pain and discomfort rather than for pleasure, often because of hormonal changes. That same insight produced its Miracle Melts vaginal inserts. After the TikTok launch, the cleanser goes to Playground's site and Ulta.com on Tuesday, October 20. Ulta had planned it for Q1 2027 and moved the date up when it heard about the TikTok debut. "Playground is extending from the bedroom into the bathroom," Magee said.

Retail is where the brand has grown. Playground was founded in May 2022 by Magee and chief product officer Sandy Vukovic. It launched in nearly 2,000 Target stores in 2024 on the back of a $2 million round, entered Ulta in April with 300 doors and has since grown to 1,500, and is offered to members of menopause provider Midi Health. Beauty Independent also cites TikTok's figure that US livestream-shopping sales on TikTok Shop more than doubled in the first half of 2026 compared with a year earlier.
