On September 9, 2026 retailer DollPimp announced voice-controlled motorized leg technology for the Evas Doll lineup, XBIZ reported, enabling full-size models to reposition their legs in response to spoken commands. The system is offered on Evas Doll's 170cm L-Cup and 182cm F-Cup bodies and supports commands to lift a leg, spread the legs, straighten individual legs, perform programmed split and straddle movements, and lower the legs, with voice recognition in both English and Chinese. "This is a significant development because we're moving beyond joints that simply offer more articulation," a DollPimp representative told XBIZ. "The motors are actually supplying the force required to move the legs of a full-size doll in response to a voice command."

Why It Matters

The sex robot category has spent a decade being oversold by everyone except the people actually building it. What makes this launch worth logging is not the capability — six motors performing scripted leg positions is modest — but the framing discipline. Both the manufacturer and the retailer explicitly declined to call it a robot, which is a meaningful departure from a market segment whose default marketing register is "the future is here." That restraint tracks with RealDoll founder Matt McMullen's 2024 assessment that home-use full-body robots remain several years out on technology, maintenance and price, and with Realbotix's move in July to threaten legal action over headlines linking it to sex robots at all. The commercially relevant constraint is power. A device that is inert without a wall adapter and heats up after four hours is not a product, it is a subassembly. The gating technology for this category has never been actuation — industrial robotics solved that — it is power density, thermal management and cost at consumer price points. Until a doll can hold a position without mains power, motorization is an accessory, not a platform. For investors and product teams, the signal to watch is not the next movement demo but the first credible battery-and-standing spec. Until then, treat "AI sex robot" headlines accordingly.

SEXTECHGUIDE, which covered the same system on September 11 via a separate retailer, reported that Evas Doll is based in Dongguan, Guangdong, that the feature is billed as six degrees of freedom, and that retailer ULoversDoll announced it on September 2 with a 170cm model listed at $2,999 (discounted to $2,399 at the time of writing). Operation requires the wake word "Xiaoyi" followed by a set command, roughly three seconds between instructions, and re-waking the system if it has been idle more than a minute. Saying "That's enough" lowers both legs.

The engineering caveats are more interesting than the demo. Per Evas Doll's own specifications as reported by SEXTECHGUIDE, the six motors — four at the hips, two at the knees — add about 5.7kg (12.5lb) to the doll's weight, which does not help a product category already defined by being difficult to move. The system draws power through a wired external adapter rather than a battery, and the joints go completely limp when power is off. Owners are warned not to force the limbs by hand while the system is on, because that can damage the motors, and the retailer advises running them roughly two hours at a stretch, cautioning that they can become "significantly hot" after around four.

Notably, the retailer declined to oversell it. ULoversDoll told SEXTECHGUIDE that "at its current stage, the system is limited to selected leg movements and should not be considered a complete sex robot," describing it instead as "one possible direction for the development of increasingly automated and interactive sex dolls." Evas Doll posted on The Doll Forum in June that it is developing an autonomous walking function and a version that can stand without a power supply — which, as SEXTECHGUIDE dryly noted, tells you what the current one does when unplugged. Demonstration video exists on Reddit, the ULoversDoll site and The Doll Forum; the company's June demo showed motors moving a bare skeleton rather than a finished doll.
