On September 3, 2026, XBIZ reported that Lovense has been named Platinum Sponsor of Adult Game Fest, the first dedicated trade convention for the adult gaming industry — an event with no physical venue at all. The three-day show runs September 24–26, 2026 entirely inside Utherverse, the two-decade-old 3D social platform behind the Red Light Center MMO. Compatible Lovense devices will interact with experiences inside the Utherverse world during the event, and Lovense will run product giveaways throughout.
Why It Matters
The teledildonics-plus-content thesis has been circling this exact use case for years without a business event to organize around it. Lovense already ships game-sync products and maintains an SDK; what it lacks is a venue where game developers and device makers negotiate integrations as a category rather than one-off partnerships. Being Platinum Sponsor of the only such venue, at its inaugural edition, is cheap positioning for a company that wants its haptics layer to be the default rather than one of several. Afterglow has tracked the adjacent moves all summer — SexLikeReal's Melody stroker adding AI sync and haptic app connection, Lovescape's AI companions syncing natively with Ohdoki's Handy, Lovense's own Gush 2 Motion adding rhythm-matching sensors. Adult Game Fest is where that fragmented integration work gets a trade floor. The venue choice is the genuinely interesting bit, and it is not nostalgia for the metaverse. A physical B2B adult trade show requires a convention center willing to host it, a payment processor willing to sell the tickets, and exhibitors willing to be photographed — three constraints that have visibly tightened this year. ANME ended its 30-year run in August. SZI Expo slipped from September 2026 to March 2027 on Shenzhen government restrictions. Running the show inside a virtual world routes around venue risk entirely, and the $9.99 ticket removes the travel cost that keeps small indie developers out of trade shows in the first place. That is a real structural answer to a real problem, whatever one thinks of avatar-based networking. The open question is attendance quality. Trade shows create value through serendipitous density — the hallway conversation, the booth you wandered past. Whether a 3D client with text chat reproduces that, or just produces a distributed Discord with worse ergonomics, is the thing to watch on September 24. If it works even partially, expect the format to be copied fast by a sector that is running out of physical floors. The sponsorship is a developer-tools play as much as a marketing one. Per XBIZ, the partnership "opens new possibilities for developers and creators, as Lovense provides technology and developer tools that can be integrated into games and interactive experiences." Adult Game Fest executive VP Anna Lee said Lovense is "exactly the kind of company we want at the forefront," and that "bringing Lovense-enabled experiences into Utherverse gives our attendees a glimpse of what the future of immersive adult entertainment can look like."
The event's own thesis, per Lee in earlier coverage, is that the adult gaming sector generates an estimated $500-plus million annually across Steam, Patreon and Itch.io and has never had a dedicated industry event where developers, studios, creators and brands can meet and do business. AdultVisor's August 13 preview describes the format: general admission at $9.99, virtual exhibition booths staffed by real people behind avatars, an Adult Game Investment Forum with live pitches from emerging companies, panels on AI, indie development, creator revenue and regulation, structured networking and matchmaking, and a virtual swag bag. Utherverse plans to stream panels and speakers to YouTube and Twitch, and will run a badge system distinguishing exhibitors, speakers and staff. Featured exhibitors announced so far include Gagged Love, a hand-drawn indie visual novel.
Utherverse claims over 50 million registered users across its history; current active figures are not public. The platform runs as a set of linked standalone 3D environments accessed through a desktop client rather than one continuous world, and splits busy venues into duplicate "dimensions" when crowded — a scaling mechanic that will get a real test if a trade show floor fills up.
